The Birch represents new beings. Known as the tree of inception, it's one of the first trees to show leaves in spring. It represents purification, fertility and rebirth.

Astrologically its planetary ruler is the Sun - the Holly King of the winter has been deposed by the Oak king, the longest night has passed and summer is on its way.  The white stag in Celtic legends symbolises the seventh month reign of the sun god when light & life are celebrated for the next six months.
